NSUF 19-CINR-17109: Integral Fuel Rod Real-Time Wireless Sensor & Transmitter Irradiation Test and Post Irradiation Examination
The objective of the work proposed is to continue the nuclear environmental evaluation and qualification of a remotely interrogated (magnetic coupling) in-core wireless sensor embedded within a fuel rod, which is capable of measuring critical parameters such as fuel pellet center line temperature and fuel rod internal pressure, and wirelessly transmit them through the fuel rod cladding and coolant without compromising the structural integrity of the fuel rod.
