NEUP CINR-17-12463: Extreme Performance High Entropy Alloys (HEAs) Cladding for Fast Reactor Applications
In this project we propose to develop extreme performance HEAs as design for new metal alloy cladding for fast reactor applications. Two very promising, single solution BCC HEA will be investigated. Microstructure and micromechanical characterizations will be performed on ion irradiated samples. Na compatibility and defect cluster dynamics will be assessed experimentally. This project will deliver an extensive irradiation resistance study of a new promising yet unexplored cladding concept.
