NEUP CINR-17-12538: Influence of dissolved salts and impurities in seawater on heat transfer degradation and fluid flow through fuel channels debris bed

The proposed experimental research will investigate the role of raw water on degraded heat transfer and fluid flow in reactor core and debris bed. X-ray imaging technique, optical-fiber high speed temperature sensing system and radioactive tracer salts will be used to simultaneously measure experimental data on void fraction, temperature and salt deposition rate. This data will be used to obtain correlations for heat transfer and fluid flow in case of raw water injection.
