NEUP CINR-17-12664: Methods to Predict Thermal Radiation and to Design Scaled Separate and Integral Effects Testing For Molten Salt Reactors

UC Berkeley, MIT, and Southern Company will develop a methodology for the design of molten salt reactor (MSR) Separate Effect Test and Integral Effect Test experiments. This methodology will identify and quantify sources of scaling distortion including radiative heat transport. The methodology and supporting research will be published in peer reviewed archival journal articles and a NRC Topical Report, which future MSR license applicants can submit for pre-application review to the USNRC.
