NEUP CINR-17-12996: Multipurpose, Radiation- and Temperature-Resistant Semiconductor Radiation Detectors for Advanced Process Monitoring and Nuclear Safeguards

Partnering with national laboratory, HBCU, and nuclear industry, University of South Carolina will develop detection systems capable of neutron, gamma-ray, x-ray, and alpha monitoring for extended times at high-temperature and high radiation environment. The detectors will be used for nuclear material control and accounting in nuclear fuel reprocessing facilities to enhance nuclear safeguards.
