NEUP CINR-18-15703: Bridging microscale to macroscale mechanical property measurements and predication of performance limitation for FeCrAl alloys under extreme reactor applications

The project involves ion irradiation and deformation to introduce defects of adjustable size, density and morphologies in FeCrAl alloys. In conjunction with structural characterization and mechanical testing at different temperatures, the project aims to reveal correlations among mechanical property changes and microstructural changes and to evaluate the ductility of FeCrAl alloys through bridging microscale to macroscale mechanical property measurements.
