NEUP CINR-19-16549: Thermal Conductivity Measurement of Irradiated Metallic Fuel Using TREAT
The objective of this project is to determine irradiated U-Pu-Zr fuel thermal conductivity using an innovative technique in TREAT. The project will take advantage of the unique power shaping capability of TREAT and its versatile irradiation test system, MARCH, with modern sensors and simulations tools. U-Pu-Zr fuel samples will be selected from historical EBR-II experiments and characterized before and after the TREAT experiment. Conductivity models will be developed for AFC and VTR use.
