NEUP CINR-19-17150: Speciation and behavior of neptunium and zirconium in advanced separation process

In the recent development, the CoDCon flowsheet uses U(IV) to reduce Pu(IV) into the non-extractable Pu(III). Radiolytic degradation products of tributylphosphate, nitric acid, redox buffer (hydrozine), masking agent (cdta), water greatly affect the redox speciation, complexation and partitioning of the recycled metals. Fundamental understanding of chemical speciation and partitioning of Np and Zr under such conditions is required.
