NEUP CINR-20-19198: Functionalized clay buffer materials for the long-term sequestration of technetium and iodine
Novel functionalized clay buffer materials for the long-term sequestration of iodine and technetium will be synthesized, tested, and modeled, by a multidisciplinary team of experts from a university and a national laboratory. This program-supporting work will help the FC-4 R&D program through developing novel material that supports the program efforts to design improved geologic repository barrier systems and optimize repository performances.
