NEUP CINR-20-19367: Investigation of Novel Nickel-Based Alloys for Molten Chloride Fast Reactor Structural Applications
The objective of this project, which addresses workscope RC-1 and includes co-PIs from three universities (Univ of Cincinnati, Univ of Tennessee-Knoxville, California State Polytechnic Univ-Pomona) and a national lab (ORNL) is to investigate and establish the scientific foundations for the development of promising Ni-Mo-W-Cr-Al-X alloys with a superior balance of properties compared to current materials for high temperature structural applications in molten chloride salt fast reactors (MCFR).
