NEUP CINR-20-20087: Development of Sensor Performance Model of Microwave Cavity Flow Meter for Advanced Reactor High Temperature Fluids
This project aims to demonstrate performance of waveguide-coupled microwave cavities for advanced reactor near-core flow sensing in high temperature fluid. The stainless steel microwave cavity sensor is resilient to radiation, and applicable to liquid sodium and molten salt fluid flow sensing. Physics-based and machine-learning-based sensor degradation models will be developed to estimate sensor lifetime, and to develop re-calibration procedures to compensate for degradation.
