NEUP CINR-21-24104: Thermal Hydraulics Investigation of Horizontally Orientated Layout Micro HTGRs Under Normal Operation and PCC Conditions Using Integrated Advanced Measurement Techniques

The proposed work will integrate in a novel way advanced measurement techniques to measure both flow, heat transfer rate and coefficients and temperature profiles inside the channel and the gaps in a representative blocks structures to be designed and developed at 3-5 MPa and temperature of 1200oC and to track the spatial peak fuel temperature as a function of time and heat transfer rates from the core to the vessel gap region using a variable and controllable heater and cooler.
