NEUP CINR-23-29311: Subwavelength Ultrasonic Imaging for Rapid Qualification of Additively Manufactured Nuclear Structures and Components

The objective of this proposal is to develop a transformational capability for rapid nondestructive quality assessment of actual nuclear additively manufactured structures and components through advanced ultrasonic imaging with subwavelength resolution. The resolution of conventional ultrasonic systems is limited by diffraction on the order of the wavelength. In this proposal, we aim to break the diffraction limits of ultrasonic imaging by implementing a negative-index lens.
