NEUP CINR-25-34211: Coupled Interface Capturing and Particle Tracking Methods for Fuel Dispersal Study During the Loss-of-Coolant Accident
The primary objective of the proposed research is to advance the predictive capability for estimating the mass distribution of fuel particles during a fuel dispersal event. This will be accomplished by deriving appropriate closure relations for a reactor scale three-fluid flow model, informed by meso-scale simulations that track fuel particles in interpenetrating gas-liquid flows.
