NSUF 17-953: Post Irradiation Examination of Fiber Optic Temperature Sensors for In-Pile Temperature Monitor and Control for Advanced Test Reactor
The goal of this study is to investigate the radiation stability of fiber optical temperature sensors for for In-Pile Temperature Monitor and Control for Advanced Test Reactor. 18 sensors were fabricated at the university of Houston and have been irradiated at different temperatures and doses. Post irradiation study at the university of Houston will find out any potential damages to the optical cavities of the sensors. The evaluation will be finished within 6 months after the receipt of the samples.
