NSUF 25-5237: Property measurement of LiF-NaF-ZrF4-UF4

For this RTE, the melting temperature of the salt will be measured using a differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), which requires ~50 mg of salt per sample. The first salt composition will be a 41-31-28 mol% composition of LiF-NaF-ZrF4 salt. Several other samples that maintain the same composition will be made, but the 28 mol% will be a combination of ZrF4 and UF4, simulating different stages of the fluorination process. Please note that the phase diagrams in the technical narrative are calculated and need experimental validation to make informed decisions on fuel salt composition. That is why three samples containing LiF, NaF, ZrF4, and UF4 will be made and melting temperature verified. The experimental data will also be used to update the phase diagrams below. This will advance technology for SNF reprocessing and add salt melt temperature data to more salt compositions.
