NSUF 23-KJRR: KJRR Fuel Plates
The Korean Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) initiated the KJRR project to construct a new dedicated radioisotope production facility in the Ki-Jang province of South Korea. KAERI fabricated the KJRR fuel assembly experiment as part of the fuel qualification program and shipped it to Idaho National Laboratory (INL) for irradiation. The KJRR fuel qualification required irradiation of a full-size driver fuel assembly. This will be performed in the Northeast Flux Trap (NEFT) of the Advanced Test Reactor (ATR). The primary purpose of the KJRR fuel assembly experiment is to provide data about the irradiation performance of the KJRR fuel, which will use low-enriched uranium-molybdenum fuel.
