NSUF 24-MOD1A: MOD1A Yttrium Hydride

The use and properties of YHx as a high-temperature moderator have been researched in detail in the past. The purpose of the ATR experiment was to analyze the integrity of YHx samples of multiple sizes and fabrication methods under different temperatures during irradiation in a test reactor. The YHx samples were produced using both direct hydriding and powder metallurgy methods.
